Stay, Camp & Explore Lake Wivenhoe

Lake Wivenhoe, more commonly referred to as Wivenhoe Dam, is a haven for those who enjoy water-based recreation, particularly for kayaking and canoeing. The water is very calm due to the lack of powered boats, which makes for an enjoyable, relaxing experience or a spot of fishing.

You can choose from our grassy sites overlooking the lake, or one of our Glamping tents for an extra special experience. Enjoy a relaxing stay with natural shade and vegetation or get out on the water for recreational activities. Watch out for kangaroos, possums, ducks and a wide variety of birdlife during your stay.

Glamping

Enjoy a stress-free, unique experience in one of our Pure Glamping tents. No set up or pack down, just a peaceful stay under the stars.

Camping

Enjoy camping at one of our two tranquil campgrounds – Captain Logan Campground or Lumley Hill Campground.

    Brisbane Valley Rail Trial

Pack your bike, your hiking gear or giddy – up on your horse and trek along the Brisbane Valley Rail Trail. The path traces the former train corridor that extends from Fernvale to Yarraman (the Toogoolawah to Esk leg is close to us here at Somerset Park Campground). It covers 160km of outback bushland and allows each traveler to choose their own journey.
